Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu used this year’s Eid el-Kabir celebration to send a clear message. If Nigeria is going to improve, it starts with how children are raised.
Speaking at the State House in Marina, during a celebration hosted by the First Family of Lagos, he called on parents to teach discipline, truth, and faith. According to him, those values will shape the kind of leaders the next generation becomes.
The event, which brought together government officials, religious leaders, and members of the Muslim community, was more than just a celebration. It turned into a serious reflection on family and faith.
Dr. Sa’eid Ahmad from LASUTH also shared this view. He reminded Muslims to stay grounded in their beliefs and to support one another through difficult times. He said unity and strong values are the foundation of a resilient society.
Other speakers, including Oluremi Hamzat and Commissioner Ibrahim Layode, encouraged the public to stay committed to Islamic principles and continue building peaceful communities.
Eid is a time of faith and sacrifice. But this year in Lagos, it also became a reminder that what happens in our homes has the power to shape the nation.
