The Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly Mudashiru Obasa returned to his position following an impeachment that occurred two months ago which resulted in a major leadership change at the assembly.
After Moji Meranda resigned during weeks of Assembly political disputes he left his role as Speaker for Obasa to resume office. Obasa reacted to his impeachment by dismissing it as unimportant and assured lawmakers he holds no hard feelings towards those who supported his ouster. Obasa chose to address his fellow legislators as family members before promising to maintain harmony among members of the Assembly.
Obasa made his appearance right after the announcement to meet with other legislators at the Assembly garden after a meeting took place inside. The return of Obasa to his position will resolve the ongoing political turmoil in Lagos state legislative institutions.
