Trump Signs Order Banning Transgender Women from Women's Sports

Transgender women are not allowed to play sports for women because US President Donald Trump signed an order that says so.

On National Girls and Women in Sports Day, the news of the move came out. The order says that schools that get federal money will be investigated for Title IX violations if they let guys play on women's teams or enter locker rooms for women.

The order says that the US does not want people who identify as male to play women's sports for safety, fairness, respect, and the truth's sake. The assistant to the president for domestic policy has been asked by the administration to set up a meeting between big sports organisations and female athletes who say that current policies hurt them.

Their goal is to make sure that women's games are safe and fair. This new measure builds on what the Trump government has already done. He had earlier signed an order saying there are only two sexes and that federal money could not be used for projects that promote gender ideology.

Republicans in the House also passed a bill that would make it illegal for transgender women to play women's sports. This is already the law in almost half of the country at the K–12 and college levels.

Along with following the rules for sports, the order tells the education secretary to be stricter with Title IX. This means that schools and sports organisations need to make sure that girls have the same chances to play sports as boys, without having to fight against or act inappropriately around boys.

The measure was supported by Trump, who said that his administration will not stand for things that he sees as threats to the integrity of women's sports. On the other hand, people who disagree, such as Fatima Goss Graves, head of the National Women's Law Centre, say that transgender students are not a threat and should have the same chances as their peers.
